અમેરિકન દારૂ ઢીંચીને અમેરિકન બાઇક પર ફરો તો ભારત આત્મનિર્ભર બને!

આજકાલ સૌની નજર બીજી એપ્રિલ પર છે. કારણ કે એ દિવસે અમેરિકા ભારતની નિકાસ પર વધુ આયાત જકાત નાખશે એવી ધારણા છે.

ડોનાલ્ડ ટ્રમ્પની દલીલ એ છે કે ભારત અમેરિકાની ચીજો પર સરેરાશ ૧૨.૫ ટકા આયાત જકાત નાખે છે અને અમેરિકા તો ભારતની ચીજો પર સરેરાશ માત્ર ૨.૨ ટકા જ આયાત જકાત નાખે છે. એટલે અમેરિકાને ભારત સાથેના વેપારમાં વરસેદહાડે ૪૫૬૦ કરોડ ડોલરની ખોટ જાય છે.

હવે ડોનાલ્ડ ટ્રમ્પ એમ સમજે છે કે મોદીના રાજમાં ભારતનો વિકાસ થઈ ગયો છે એટલે ભારતને આયાત જકાતમાં રાહત આપવાની જરૂર નથી. એટલે ટ્રમ્પ ભારતની ચીજો પર આયાત જકાત વધારવા અધીરા થયા છે.

ભારત જે નિકાસ અમેરિકામાં કરે છે તે આને પરિણામે ઘટે એમ બને. એટલે એ બચાવવા માટે મોદી સરકાર હવાતિયાં મારી રહી છે. પરિણામે મોદી સરકાર દારૂ અને બાઈક સહિતની અનેક અમેરિકન ચીજો પરની આયાત જકાત પણ ઘટાડી રહી છે અને હજુ વધારે ઘટાડે એમ પણ બને.

અમેરિકાની હાર્લી ડેવિડસન સહિતની વિદેશી બાઈક પરની આયાત જકાત ગઈ પહેલી ફેબ્રુઆરીના રોજ નાણાં પ્રધાને તેમના બજેટ પ્રવચનમાં, એટલે કે ૨૦મી જાન્યુઆરીએ ડોનાલ્ડ ટ્રમ્પે પદગ્રહણ કર્યું તેના ૧૩ જ દિવસમાં, ૫૦ ટકાથી ઘટાડીને ૪૦ ટકા અને કેટલાક કિસ્સામાં ૨૦ ટકા કરી નાખી હતી. તે હજુ વધારે ઘટાડવામાં આવે એમ પણ બને.

એ જ રીતે, અમેરિકાની બર્બોન વ્હિસ્કી પરની આયાત જકાત ૧૫મી ફેબ્રુઆરીના રોજ ૧૫૦ ટકાથી ઘટાડીને ૫૦ ટકા કરી નાખવામાં આવી હતી! ૨૦૨૩-૨૪માં ૨૫ કરોડ રૂપિયાની આ વ્હિસ્કીની આયાત અમેરિકાથી ભારતમાં કરવામાં આવી હતી.

હવે જો અમેરિકન ચીજો પરની આયાત જકાત મોદી સરકાર ઘટાડે તો ભારતનાં બજારોમાં અમેરિકન ચીજો હાલ કરતાં વધારે ઠલવાય. અને વોટ્સએપ દેશભક્તિ કરનારા ભારતીયો સસ્તી અમેરિકન ચીજો વધુ ખરીદે અને હાર્લી ડેવિડસન પર તિરંગો લહેરાવતા ફરે.

મોદીની ૫૬ ઇંચની છાતી કેટલી સંકોચાઈ ગઈ છે! સહેજ પણ હિંમત નથી કે એ ટ્રમ્પને એમ કહે કે થાય તે કરી લો, નહિ ઘટે આયાત જકાત.

ટેરિફ એટલે કે આયાત જકાતના એટલે કે વેપાર યુદ્ધમાં મોદી હારી રહ્યા છે.

કેમ? કારણ કે બે લાખ રૂ.થી માંડીને બે કરોડ રૂપિયાની બાઈક ફેરવનારા અને મોંઘોદાટ વિદેશી શરાબ ઢીંચનારા દેશભક્ત હિન્દુ ભારતીયોની મોદીને બહુ ચિંતા છે! કારણ એ છે કે એ હિન્દુત્વની બેંક છે. કોઈ પણ હિસાબે એમને તો રાજી રાખવા જ પડે ને.
