Right to Education Forum, Gujarat, represents to the Principal Secretary, Education Department, Gujarat State to include “Urdu” as a subject in the ensuing Teachers Aptitude Test to be conducted and to extend the last date of filing for Online Application for appearing in TAT Examination:
You are also aware that only 30% weightage is given to the respective academic qualifications of the candidate meaning thereby, if any person who has not appeared and passed the TAT Examination would not be qualified to get appointed as Teacher in Government Secondary and/or Private (Grant-in-aid) Secondary Schools which are affiliated with the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Board.
You are also aware that “Urdu” has been included as a subject for conducting the TAT Examination by the Education Department, Gujarat State in its Resolution dated 19/10/2022 bearing Resolution No.MSB/1116/12/C. In the said Resolution it was resolved to add the appendix 7-A and 7-B consisting the list of the subjects for which the recruitment of the teachers would be done in the specific Schools while the in the referred notification issued by The State Examination Board, Gujarat State has omitted “Urdu” as a subject for which the TAT Examination would be conducted.
The academically qualification to become a teacher in Government Secondary and/or Private (Grant-in-aid) Secondary Schools as they have obtained the degree of Master of Arts in “Urdu” / Bachelor of Arts in “Urdu” and they also obtained degree of Bachelor of Education(B.Ed. which is a sort of professional qualification for becoming a teacher. You are also aware that there are multiple Government Secondary and/or Private (Grant-in-aid) Secondary Schools in Gujarat which impart the Education in “Urdu” medium or which teach “Urdu” as a subject. Therefore, to fill up the vacancies for the teachers in such Schools it is inevitable to include “Urdu” as a subject in ensuing/upcoming TAT Examination. It is repeated that unless the candidates get passed the TAT Examination they would not be eligible to get appointed as a teacher in Government Secondary and/or Private (Grant-in-aid) Secondary Schools.
I also inform you that “Urdu” as a subject was included and the examinations for the said subject was also conducted in TAT Examination, 2018.
By considering the above facts and circumstances, I request to your good sells,
A) To include “Urdu” as a subject in the (Referred Notification No.RPB/TAT-S/2023/5436-5476 dated 01/05/2023.) and to conduct the Examination of “Urdu” in the ensuing/upcoming TAT which has been scheduled to be held 04/06/2023 and 18/06/2023.
B) To extend the last date of filing of the online application for appearing in the TAT Examination till inclusion of “Urdu” as a subject in the referred notification.
I am sure that you will be ordered to include Urdu subject in TAT exam and gave Justice to Urdu students.

Bring to your sincere attention regarding Injustice with Urdu students on the above issue that Urdu subject is not included in this TAT exam on 4/6/23 (PRE) and on 18/6/23 (Mains). The aspirants of becoming teacher of “Urdu” in the Government Secondary and/or Private (Grant-in-aid) Secondary Schools which are affiliated with The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Board. As your good selves are aware that for becoming a teacher in such schools it is mandatory to appear and pass the TAT Examination which is conducted by The State Examination Board, Gujarat State.
