Ganga is mother to millions of people in India. She is the daughter of the Himalayas in Uttarakhand. Various customs and traditions flourished on the banks of Ganges. The areas she passed through became highly fertile. Ganga and various other tributaries in the Himalayas are abode to Chardhams and various places of religious importance of Hindus. She is not merely termed as life giver but people take shelter in her for 'moksha'.
In our Ganga exploration yatra we pass through various beautiful rivers of Himalayas who contribute to form Ganga. Protection of Himalayas and various rivers that rises from it need to be our national duty as they are source of great environmental, cultural and geographical importance for human civilisation. Let us protect and preserve the Himalayas and its various rivers and alpine meadows which give us life and enlightenment. This is Hindi version but a version with English voice over will soon be uploaded.
