Mujahid Nafees, Convener, Minority Coordination Committee, Gujarat, writes to State Presidents of BJP, Congress, Aam Aadmi Party, AIMIM and CPI-M, regarding participation of minorities in the electoral process in the Gujarat Legislative Assembly in 2022:
It is the highest place to raise the burning questions of the citizens of the state and make policy rules. The development questions that have been raised have been raised by Muslim MLAs. Just as a person cannot remain healthy by keeping any part of his body aside, similarly the participation of all classes is very important in a healthy society. The member raises the question in the assembly so that the discriminatory policy of the government can be stopped.
In the Constitution of India, it has been said in great detail regarding the participation of all classes, it is the responsibility of all of us to do our work according to the nature (Inclusion, Participation, Justice) of the constitution, so that the dreams of the freedom fighters of the country can be fulfilled. Sarva Dharma equanimity and participation depends greatly on the political will. Making the marginalized participants in the electoral process will be an important step towards realizing the contract.
The Minority Coordination Committee (MCC) in the context of the above, expects all the political parties to give tickets to the leaders of the minority community for at least 20 assembly constituencies according to the population of the state of Gujarat. With this, the upcoming assembly will be a representative assembly of the whole society and we will also be able to give a model of inclusion to the country.
Seeking your positive response.

Assembly elections are about to come in the state, all the parties have started the campaign. The process of selection of candidates has also started. I want to draw your attention to the 11.5% minorities of the state. The participation of the minority community in the state assembly is negligible. If we look at the working of this assembly, then the questions of development and protection of minorities have been rarely asked in the assembly. Whereas there has been a lot of questions and statements creating a negative image of minorities in the Assembly. It is the highest place to raise the burning questions of the citizens of the state and make policy rules. The development questions that have been raised have been raised by Muslim MLAs. Just as a person cannot remain healthy by keeping any part of his body aside, similarly the participation of all classes is very important in a healthy society.
