The Green Catalyst team, consisting of 45 volunteers from 15 different colleges of Ahmedabad, organized two different programmes on the occasion of the World Environment Day, supported by Ahmedabad-based environmental organization Paryavaran Mitra.
The team, which works for awareness and education on waste management, including e-waste and plastic waste, organised a rally of about 100 students from Shyamal Char Rasta to Vastrapur with environmental protection banners.
In the second programme, the team organised a prakruti or nature dialogue at Juggernaut Arena on Sindhubhuwvan Road, where Paryavaran Mitra's Mahesh Pandya apprised students of the dangers of increasing city pollution and its relationship with rise in temperature of Ahmedabad, and measures to overcome the problem.
Participating students discussed issues related with water pollution, air pollution and solid waste management.
